Non-Fatal Shooting Defendant Rejects 5 Year Plea Deal

On March 13, Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland set a trial date for 21-year-old Taighae Brown

Brown is charged with second-degree assault, firearm/drug trafficking, possession of a firearm with a felony conviction, possessing firearms during a controlled dangerous substance offense, having a handgun on his person, possessing a handgun in a vehicle, illegal possession of ammunition, discharging a firearm and three charges of possessing narcotics with the intent to distribute. 

The prosecution offered Brown a plea deal of five years without parole for firearm/drug trafficking. Brown rejected this offer. 

Judge Copeland set a motions date for April 23. Brown will appear with his attorney Jerry Rodruiguez in front of Judge Jeffrey M. Geller.
