A non-fatal shooting case involving two co-defendants was dismissed on Jan. 4 after they refused to testify against one another.
Tyrell Lamont Gray Jr., 22, and Kevin Williams Jr., 27, were both facing multiple counts of assault, reckless endangerment, and weapons charges for an incident on July 1, 2022. Defense attorneys Robert Cole and Roland Harris represented Gray and Williams, respectively.
During Wednesday’s proceedings before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa Phinn, the prosecution requested to dismiss the case as the co-defendants declined to testify against one another, asserting their Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination.
Judge Phinn granted the dismissal.
