Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland has scheduled a new trial date for one of the defendants in a Pimlico Road murder case on June 18 after a mistrial was declared earlier this month.
Darrean Fleming, 24, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder, firearm use in a violent felony crime and having a handgun in a vehicle for the murder of 20-year-old Amare Burruss on the 4200 block of Pimlico Road, back in December 2022.
The jury deliberated but could not reach a consensus on Fleming’s guilt. A mistrial was declared on June 10.
After both the prosecution and defense indicated that they might need additional time to review the files and evidence thoroughly, they agreed on a trial date later this year.
Judge Copeland scheduled the trial to begin on Sept. 25 before Judge Jennifer B. Schiffer. Michael Tomko will represent Fleming at trial.
