In a reception court hearing on Jan. 24, Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland set a trial date.
Defendant Kenneth A. Mackay, 37, is charged with first-degree murder and possession of a deadly weapon with the intent to injure in connection with the death of 38-year-old Daniel Taylor on Sept. 7, 2023, on the 1800 block of Presbury Street.
During a previous hearing, the prosecution offered Mackay a plea offer that included life, suspending all but 60 years, and five years supervised probation for first-degree murder. Mackay rejected this offer.
Mackay is represented by James Sweeting III.
Judge Copeland scheduled Mackay’s trial in May. 24 before Baltimore City Circuit Judge John A. Howard.
