Murder defendant Tracy Jones is scheduled to begin a retrial of his case in September.
The 18 year old, who had just turned 16 at the time of the shooting, is charged with first-degree murder, firearm use during a felony violent crime, carrying or wearing a handgun on person and possession of a firearm by a minor for allegedly shooting 21-year-old Davron Dorsey on June 27, 2019.
Jones’ new trial, which is slated to last five days, will be held from September 8 to September 14. Judge Jennifer Schiffer will preside over the trial.
The defendant’s first trial, which resulted in a hung jury, began on Dec. 9 and last for one week.
Baltimore Witness previously reported that the incident occurred outside an Ez-Shop Grocery store shortly before 9:30 p.m. on the 3100 block of W. Belvedere Avenue.
