A man charged with first-degree murder rejected a plea offer and had a trial date set during reception court on Oct. 5 at Baltimore City Circuit Court.
Bernard Davenport, 28, is charged in connection with a murder on Oct. 1, 2020, on the 800 block of North Franklintown Road. Police found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the head around 6 p.m.
The victim died the next day.
Along with first-degree murder, Davenport is charged with firearm use in a felony crime, having a handgun on his person, and firearm possession with a felony conviction.
On Tuesday, the prosecution offered Davenport life for first-degree murder, which was rejected by Davenport and his defense attorney, Brandon Mead.
A trial was set for June 6, 2022.
