A Baltimore man accused of murder rejected a plea offer of 60 years with five years on supervised probation on Jan. 10 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jennifer Schiffer.
Tyron Taylor, 19, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, robbery, conspiracy to robbery, and use of a firearm during a violent crime in connection to an incident on July 17, 2020.
On Monday, Judge Schiffer listened as the prosecutor presented a plea of life suspending all but 60 years with five years supervised probation for first-degree murder.
Taylor and his defense attorney, Judit Otvos, rejected the plea offer.
According to the Baltimore Sun, on July 17, 2020, officers were called to the 800 block of Low Street for reports of shots being fired, where they found 28-year-old Joseph Betts.
Taylor’s trial is scheduled for Sept. 8 with Judge Kendra Ausby.
