A 27-year-old murder defendant appeared in reception court before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland on June 7 to hear the prosecution’s plea offer.
Christopher Lee is charged with first-degree-murder and firearm use in a felony violent crime in connection to an incident occurring on Jan. 14. Defense attorney Matthew B. Rogers stood in for Lawrence Greenberg during Friday’s hearing.
The prosecution offered Lee a plea deal of life, suspending all but 50 years, with five years of supervised probation for first-degree murder and for firearm use in a felony violent crime, a concurrent 20 years, the first five years without the possibility of parole. Lee would also have to register as a gun offender upon release.
Lee rejected the offer.
Lee’s four-day trial is scheduled to begin Sept. 23 before Judge Melissa M. Phinn.
