On June 28, a 37-year-old murder defendant received a trial date in reception court from Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland.
Cornell Moore, Jr. is charged with first-degree murder, firearm use in a felony violent crime, firearm possession with a felony conviction and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder for the death of 29-year-old Shabro Meredith on the 1800 block of North Smallwood Street that occurred on Sept. 14, 2021.
According to Moore’s attorney Robert Cole, the defense and the prosecution were unable to come to a resolution by way of plea.
Judge Copeland scheduled Moore’s trial date to begin on Oct.15 for five days, with a motion to suppress DNA evidence hearing on Sept. 30. Judge Yolanda A. Tanner will rule on the motion, while Judge Althea M. Handy will preside over the trial.
