A Baltimore man accused of first-degree murder and multiple gun charges had his trial date pushed to January 2023 in a trial set to take place before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Dana Middleton.
Kyree Davis, 23, is charged with first-degree murder, firearm use in a felony crime of violence, having a loaded handgun on his person, and carry/wearing a handgun in connection to the April 2021 shooting death of 22-year-old Shamyar Austin.
The reason for the postponement of the hearing is unknown to Baltimore Witness, and both the defense and state’s attorneys did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
According to CBS Baltimore, police responded to a potential suicide on the 4800 block of Bayonne Avenue on April 11, 2021 around 3:20 p.m., where they found Austin unresponsive. Medics declared him dead on the scene.
Davis allegedly confessed to the crime after an interview with police.
Davis’s next hearing is set for Jan 24, 2023.
