The jury trial of a 60-year-old manslaughter defendant was postponed on Jan. 20 and rescheduled for early August.
Galen Hyman was initially scheduled for trial before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Barry Williams on Friday. The defendant is facing vehicular manslaughter charges in connection to the death of 38-year-old Garrick Williams Jr. on March 1, 2021, in the Shoppers Food store parking lot at Mondawmin Mall.
Hyman’s trial is tentatively scheduled for Aug. 3.
WBAL TV previously reported that Hyman was allegedly under the influence of methadone when he was driving in the parking lot and struck Williams and another man, who survived the incident, before crashing into an SUV.
