The retrial of manslaughter defendant Bryan Hannah was set for June 20 for a fatal, drug-related shooting at Waverly Tavern in 2017.

During reception court on Feb. 9, the prosecution and defense attorney George Smith—standing in for Natalie Finegar—informed Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa Phinn that the only trial date that worked for them was the third week in June. Judge Phinn replied that there isn’t currently a judge available on June 20; however, she would put them on the schedule and update them on availability later.

The trial is expected to last four days.

Hannah, whose case was remanded in November 2021, allegedly punched Daniel Mullhausen before firing nine gunshots, three of which struck the defendant. The shooting occurred on the 500 block of East 25th Street the day after Christmas in 2017.

The defendant is being retried for voluntary manslaughter and firearm possession with felony conviction charges. At the same time, his five-year sentence remains in place for his prior conviction of firearm use in a felony violent crime.
