A Baltimore man suspected of killing a 17-year-old and shooting two others had a trial date set on Sept. 9 during reception court at Baltimore City Circuit Court.
Lenny Epps, 41, is charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, home invasion, firearm use in a violent crime, and other related charges for his alleged connection with an incident on Jan. 23.
According to the State’s Attorney Office for Baltimore City, Epps allegedly shot three people on the 600 block of Lakewood Avenue at approximately 3:30 a.m. after a confrontation with the victims in the days prior. One 17-year-old female victim was pronounced dead at the hospital later that day. The two male victims survived.
On Thursday, the prosecution offered a plea of life for first-degree murder; two life sentences for two counts of attempted first-degree murder; 20 years for firearm use in a violent crime; and 15 years for firearm possession with a felony conviction, all to be served concurrently.
Epps and his defense attorney, Anne Marie Gering, rejected the offer.
Epps had rejected the same offer last month.
Judge Melissa M. Phinn set a trial date for Feb. 14, 2022.
Epps also has multiple narcotics-related cases against him, which all have hearings later this month.
