Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Alan C. Lazerow sentenced Tayvon Miller, 38 to life in prison for the killing of 38-year-old Frissell Townes, Jr.
Miller was found guilty of first-degree murder, armed robbery, firearm use in a felony violent crime and firearm possession with a felony conviction for the June 28, 2023, murder on the 2600 block of West Patapsco Avenue.
During the hearing, the prosecutor read a letter that Townes’ family wrote for Miller aloud, expressing their grief that the defendant deprived the victim of his life. Additionally, the family felt safer knowing the person who murdered their loved one would be in prison.
The prosecution requested a sentence of life plus 35 years, saying the act was premeditated.
Judge Lazerow said, “The worst crime should receive the worst sentence.”
The judge sentenced Miller to life in prison for first-degree murder, a consecutive sentence of 20 years for armed robbery, 15 consecutive years for firearm possession with a felony conviction and another 20 consecutive years for firearm use in a felony violent crime.
