Man Charged With Shooting Rejects Plea

A 61-year-old man charged with a non-fatal shooting rejected a plea offer during reception court on Oct. 19 at Baltimore City Circuit Court.

Ronald Williamson is accused of shooting a man on Dec. 31, 2020, around the intersection of North Eutaw Street and Mulberry Street. He is charged with attempted first and second-degree murder, first-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and seven firearm-related charges.

The prosecution offered Williamson a plea of five years with the possibility of parole for illegal possession of a firearm, and time served for carrying a loaded handgun.

Williamson seemed interested in this offer, but his defense attorney, Brandon Mead, still had videos relating to the incident that he needed to show Williamson. The prosecution will rescind this offer on Dec. 1.

A trial was scheduled for May 31, 2022.
