Man Acquitted Of 17-Year-Old Teen’s Murder Faces Retrial For Weapons Charge

A Baltimore man will be retried this November for a weapons charge in the homicide case of 17-year-old Ray Glasgow, nearly a year after the defendant was found not guilty of Glasgow’s murder.

The jury trial of 38-year-old Eric Jackson concluded with a partial mistrial in January when the jury found the defendant not guilty of first-degree murder and conspiracy to first-degree murder, but could not reach a unanimous verdict for the charge of firearm use in a felony or violent crime.

On Aug. 17, Jackson and his defense attorney, Bradley MacFee, requested a postponement before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn as MacFee entered his appearance as Jackson’s new counsel. The defendant’s four-day retrial was scheduled to begin Nov. 29 before Judge Martin Schreiber.

Jackson was among the three co-defendants accused of Glasgow’s murder on May 5, 2018, on the 100 block of S. Broadway. Co-defendant Bradley Mitchell was found not guilty of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder in January, while co-defendant Shawn Little pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder in September 2022.
