On Oct. 18, Salim Williams and his attorney Roland S. Harris appeared before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jeffrey M. Geller and accepted the prosecution’s plea offer for a 2022 shooting.

Williams, 25, was charged with attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, firearm possession with felony conviction, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, having a loaded handgun on his person and in his vehicle, having a handgun in his person, discharging a firearm, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, conspiracy to use a firearm in a felony violent crime, conspiracy to commit first-degree assault and malicious destruction of property with value less than $1,000.

The assistant state’s attorney offered a plea agreement of five years, suspending all but time served, with three years of supervised probation for attempted first-degree murder. Additionally, for having a loaded handgun in his vehicle, the prosecution offered a three year sentence, suspending all but time served, with three years of supervised probation to run concurrently to the other sentence. As part of the offer, Williams will need to stay away from the victims at all times and need to register as a gun offender upon release. Harris stated no objection as he and his client accepted the plea offer.

Harris notified the judge that Williams wanted to move forward and is working on becoming an engineer and wants to take care of his eight-month-old child.

According to documents from the District Court of Maryland, on Sept. 24, 2022, a witness reported her house on the 1400 block of North Rosedale Street had been shot multiple times by Williams and his codefendant, Daejon Malloy. The witness stated that the pair were attempting to shoot at her son, whom the codefendants had gotten into a fight with earlier that day at school.

Malloy accepted a plea for his role in the shooting last month.
