A defendant accused of homicide accepted a plea deal before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Lynn Stewart Mays on Dec. 13.
Malik L. Myers, 27, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and the use of a handgun in a violent crime in connection with a Feb. 2 fatal shooting.
Police responded to the victim’s apartment and found him on the floor with multiple .40-caliber gunshot wounds to his face and torso.
A witness at the scene told investigators that Myers used the victim’s bathroom prior to the shooting. Investigators recovered DNA samples from the toilet handle and found an extremely high likelihood that the samples belong to Myers.
Myers is represented by defense attorneys Janet K. Andersen and Robert A. Cohen. He will return to court for sentencing on April 14, 2025.
