Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland scheduled a June 30 jury trial for homicide defendant Damion Thomas, 44.

Thomas is accused of killing Brian Nesbitt, 37, on Aug. 21, 2024 in the 800 block of South Paca Street. Thomas is charged with first-degree murder, firearm use in a felony or violent crime, firearm possession with a prior felony conviction, and several other firearm-related charges.

According to charging documents, video surveillance footage captured a man who appeared to be Thomas driving a gray Dodge Journey SUV to the crime scene. The prosecution accused Thomas of shooting and killing Nesbitt while inside the vehicle.

Using information from the vehicle’s license plate, the Baltimore Police Department claim the vehicle belongs to Thomas’ mother.

Thomas, who is represented by defense attorney Martin Cohen, will face trial before Judge Michael A. DiPietro.
