Jury Reaches Guilty Verdict in 2022 Frederick Avenue Homicide

After three days of jury deliberations on April 15, Nathan Brown ,36, was found guilty of murder.

Brown was accused of first-degree murder, firearm use in a felony or violent crime, and firearm possession with a felony conviction in connection to the homicide of 42-year-old Correll McQueen on the 4100 block of Frederick Avenue on April 6, 2023.

Brown’s attorney Benjamin Charlton told the jury during closing statements that the prosecution was “grasping at straws” trying to connect his client to the 2022 shooting because they lacked evidence.

Surveillance footage showed Brown getting out of a gold Chevy Malibu at the scene of the crime, but Charlton claimed that the video was unclear.

Video also showed McQueen bumping into Brown at a liquor store without apologizing, which the prosecutor believes ignited the defendant’s “hot temper”.

“This is just the result of a cold-hearted kill,” the prosecutor argued on April 12.

Baltimore Witness previously reported that the crime itself was also not captured on surveillance video and none of Brown’s DNA was found at the scene.

Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Althea M. Handy presided over the trial that began on April 10.

Brown is scheduled to be sentenced on May 24.
