A Baltimore man charged with murder received a trial date on Dec. 14 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn.
Prosecutors had no offer for the defendant Samuel Wise during Wednesday’s hearing, prompting Judge Phinn to proceed with setting a trial date.
Attorney Stephanie Salter represented the defendant during the proceedings.
Wise is charged with first-degree murder, armed robbery, two counts of attempted armed robbery, three counts of conspiracy to commit armed robbery, three counts of using a firearm in a felony violent crime, first-degree assault, first and second-degree escape in connection with a crime that occurred on Jan. 23.
According to the Baltimore Police Department, 23-year-old Wise was arrested and charged in April for the murder of 44-year-old Chesley Patterson on the 1700 block of Eastern Avenue.
Phinn set the trial to begin June 2, 2023, and it is expected to last ten days before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jeannie Hong.
