Judge Sets Trial Date for Defendant Accused of Non-Fatal Shooting

During a Dec. 1 reception court proceeding, Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa Phinn presided over parties as they scheduled a trial date for a defendant accused of perpetrating a non-fatal shooting.

William Yourman is charged with possession of a firearm with a felony conviction, possession of a handgun in a vehicle, illegal possession of a regulated firearm, illegal possession of ammunition, having a handgun on his person, discharging firearms, and reckless endangerment in connection to an incident on Feb. 22.

At Thursday’s hearing, Yourman, 33,  agreed to waive his Hick’s right, consenting to a trial date exceeding 180 days of his initial court appearance.

In doing so, parties agreed to a Dec. 20 trial date, which they expect to last three days.
Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Gregory Sampson will oversee this matter.
