On Oct. 19, Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn scheduled Myles Edwards trial. Edwards, 29, is being represented by Jason Rodriguez.
Edwards is charged with attempted first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, conspiracy to commit first-degree assault, second-degree assault, conspiracy to commit second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, firearm use in a felony violent crime, conspiracy to use a firearm in a felony violent crime, firearm possession with a felony conviction, having a loaded handgun on his person, having a handgun in a vehicle, having a handgun in a vehicle on a public road, discharging a firearm in Baltimore City, carrying a handgun within 100 yards of the public and illegal possession of ammunition in connection to an April 15 incident
Edwards and his attorney rejected a plea deal from the prosecution. The offer for attempted first-degree murder was for 50 years, suspending all but 25 years; for firearm use in a felony violent crime, a concurrent sentence of eight years, the first five without the possibility of parole. For conspiracy to use a firearm in a felony violent crime was a concurrent sentence of five years without the possibility of parole, Edwards would have been required to serve five years of supervised probation, register as a gun offender and stay away from the victim and witnesses upon release.
Judge Phinn scheduled Edwards’ three-day trial for Feb. 15, 2024, before Judge Jeannie J. Hong.
