A tentative trial date has been set for a 17-year-old juvenile charged in relation to a murder on April 10, 2023.

He is accused of first-degree murder, firearm use in a felony violent crime, conspiracy to use a firearm in a felony violent crime, first-degree assault, attempted armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, possessing a firearm as a minor, having a handgun in a vehicle and having a handgun on his person.

During the June 14 hearing in reception court, Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland set Aug. 18- to-Aug. 28 as possible trial dates.

She was not able to confirm the time because the juvenile’s defense attorney, Brian Levy, had not yet responded to a motion to stay filed by the prosecution the day before.

If accepted, the motion would pause the current proceedings until a decision related to an appeal. The trial date will be set after the defense responds to the motion.

Also during the hearing, the prosecution apologized for not having an approved plea offer to give the defense.

This hearing came after a prosecution motion for the juvenile to be tried as an adult was denied.
