On Sept. 14, Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn scheduled a double homicide defendant’s trial for Dec. 13, because that’s when a medical examiner will be available to testify.

Devon Young has been charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, possession of a firearm with a felony conviction and firearm use in a felony violent crime. Young, 23, has been denied bail.

The defendant was unable to attend trial because he did not have access to Zoom, so Judge Phinn waived his appearance. He was represented by David Walsh-Little.

According to documents from the District Court of Maryland, Jan. 27, 2022, at approximately 10:45 p.m. Baltimore Police Department officers responded to the 4800 block of Lorelly Avenue for a shooting, where they found Damond Price.

Price, 19, was pronounced dead. Surveillance video show Young was one of three alleged assailants that entered a parking lot where Price was walking, When one of the suspects distracted him the others began shooting. There is surveillance footage of the incident.
