On Oct 2, 22-year-old defendant Kaihre Jordan-El pleaded guilty before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Althea M. Handy to having a loaded handgun on his person.
Jordan-El incurred the charge in connection to a shooting that happened on May 6.
According to charging documents, describing that day’s events, officers responded to the 600 block of Bartlett Avenue following a ShotSpotter alert around 3 a.m. A Black male was observed on CCTV footage at the shooting location wearing all black clothing with his right arm extended discarding an object under a green trash can.
Arriving officers identified Jordan-El as the suspect and he was stopped and arrested. Then two officers walked through a nearby alley and retrieved a black Glock 26 handgun with fourteen live rounds in the magazine and one live round in the chamber. Four spent 9mm casings were also located near Homewood and Bartlett Avenue.
Judge Handy granted pre-trial release and the sentencing has yet to be scheduled.
