Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland scheduled the trial of a 27-year-old murder defendant accused of a 2023 West Forest Park shooting on Jan. 8.
Kedric Green is charged with first-degree murder, firearm use in a felony violent crime, firearm possession with a felony conviction, having a loaded handgun on his person and in a vehicle in connection to the May 2023 death of 29-year-old Darren Lamar Shipley.
Green rejected a plea offer of life, suspending all but 60 years, for first-degree murder and a consecutive 20 year sentence, the first five years without the possibility of parole, for firearm use in a felony violent crime.
Green and his attorney, Matthew Connell, will next appear in court for the four-day trial slated to begin March 11 before Judge Charles J. Peters.
A Baltimore Police Department press release states that on May 10, 2023, officers found Shipley with multiple gunshot wounds on the 4500 block of Wakefield Road following reports of a shooting. Green was arrested two months later.
