A 33-year-old homicide defendant rejected a plea offer on Jan. 4 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa Phinn

Raymond Roman is charged with first-degree murder, use of a firearm in a violent crime, having a handgun on his person, and possession of a firearm with a felony conviction in connection to an incident on April 27, 2021.

Judge Phinn listened as the prosecutor presented a plea of life for first-degree murder and 20 years for use of a firearm in a violent crime.

Roman and his defense attorney, John Cox, rejected the plea offer.

According to CBS Baltimore, on April 27, 2021, officers were called to the 1800 block of Bloomingdale Road, where they found 43-year-old Kevin Adams suffering from a gunshot wound. The shooting occurred “following a dispute” between the two men in the Rosemont neighborhood, police said.

Roman’s trial is scheduled for May 16. The court will not hold trials from Dec. 29-Feb. 4 because of the COVID-19 omicron outbreak.
