A 42-year-old Baltimore man was scheduled for trial on Monday, but his date was moved because he discharged his attorney.
The prosecutor informed Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn that counsel for Keith Taylor, in addition to the new prosecutor covering the case, needed more time to prepare.
Judge Phinn approved the postponement and rescheduled Taylor’s trial.
According to CBS News Baltimore, Taylor was arrested in December 2020 in connection with the murder of 23-year-old Jazzeind Kashif Fulton, who was found shot in the head on the 2300 block of Evergreen Street.
Taylor is charged with first-degree murder, use of a firearm in a felony violent crime, having a handgun on his person, and possessing a firearm with a felony conviction regarding an incident on April 19, 2020, according to the Maryland Judiciary website.
Taylor is scheduled to face trial on April 12, 2023, and is expected to last four days before Judge Robert K. Taylor.
