The trial of a 24-year old defendant was postponed at the request of his defense attorney before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn.

Aamir Benton is charged with  first-degree murder, firearm use in a felony violent crime, conspiracy to use a firearm in a felony or violent crime, firearm possession with a felony conviction, having a handgun in a vehicle and carrying a handgun on his person in connection to the death of 31-year-old Phillip Wallace on June 30, 2022.

Defense attorney, Andrea E. Jaskulsky, requested the postponement. She said she needed more time to prepare.

Jaskulsky said there were technical issues to get all the evidence  and transcripts from the trial of Benton’s co-defendant James Jenkins.
Judge Melissa K. Copeland set the new trial date for Nov. 19.
