On May 8, Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Ronald Silkworth administratively postponed a convicted murder defendant’s hearing because they were not transported to court.

Defense attorney David Walsh-Little reported that he spoke with defendant Craig Carter earlier in the week and was concerned about officers shackling his legs because he had developed sores.

According to the Maryland Judiciary website, Carter, 41, is charged with first-degree murder, firearm use during a felony violent crime, firearm possession with a felony conviction and having a handgun in a vehicle on a public road in connection to the death of victim Ronald White on May 17, 2021.

On Feb. 16, a jury found Carter guilty of first-degree murder, firearm use in a felony violent crime, handgun in vehicle, and firearm possession with a felony conviction. During the trial, video showed Carter exiting the passenger side of a car with a gun, walking away from the camera, then firing towards the victim.

According to the Maryland Judiciary website, Carter’s next hearing is scheduled for June 2 and 1:30 p.m.
