A 29-year-old Baltimore man accused of shooting someone in an elevator nearly two years ago was denied bail on April 5 in Baltimore City Circuit Court.
According to Judge Jeannie J. Hong, Tavon Sheppard allegedly shot the victim in an elevator and later pointed “finger guns” at Baltimore Police Department officers, who found two firearms on the defendant at the time of his arrest.
Sheppard is charged with attempted first and second-degree murder in addition to robbery, assault, theft, and firearms charges.
During Tuesday’s bail hearing, defense attorney Kenneth Man asked for his client to be released on home detention as Sheppard has no prior convictions. Judge Hong denied Man’s requested given the seriousness of the allegations.
The defendant is currently scheduled for trial on June 8.
