Judge Denies Bail for 22-Year-Old Charged with Shooting

A Baltimore man was denied bail during a bail review hearing at the Baltimore City Circuit Court on Oct 19.

Darl Parker, age 22, is being charged with attempted first-degree murder, conspiracy to murder, discharging  a firearm, firearm use in felony violent crime, and carrying a handgun on his person.

Parker allegedly shot the victim after a dispute between the two was captured on surveillance video. The footage captures Parker shooting the victim in the ankle and fleeing the scene.

The defendant was identified by surveillance and a police officer who was in the area at the time.

Defense attorney Catherine Flynn said the defendant will not be a flight risk nor a risk to public safety and requested for Parker to be released on home detention.

Flynn said  she believes that home detention services have been very “diligent” in their efforts to report to court services.

Judge Philip S. Jackson still denied his bail request.

Parker is scheduled for a hearing in reception court on Dec. 10.
