A hearing for a 31-year-old woman accused of homicide was rescheduled to December on Feb. 15 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa Phinn.
Bobie Barncord is charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy to first-degree murder, kidnapping, conspiracy to kidnapping, first-degree arson, conspiracy to first-degree arson, false imprisonment, and conspiracy to false imprisonment in connection to an incident on August 22, 2018.
On Aug. 2, 2021, Barncord rejected a plea of life for first-degree murder, 30 years for conspiracy to first-degree murder, and 20 years for conspiracy to kidnapping. The charges were slated to run concurrently.
During reception court on Tuesday, Judge Phinn listened as counsel noted that they could not find a trial date for this year that works for both attorneys. A trial date in the beginning of 2023 was requested. An official date has not been set.
According to Fox 45 News, on Aug. 21, Barncord drove a pickup truck that was used to abduct Tiffany Jones from a Family Dollar on Potee Street. Another individual, a black male, put a knife to Jones’ neck and forced her into the pickup truck, which Barncord drove to a house on 7th Street.
Barncord admitted to setting Jones on fire, the article states. Jones was found with her arms and legs bound in the burned house the next day.
Barncord was represented by defense attorneys Janine Meckler and Ana Hernandez.
The defendant’s next hearing is scheduled for Dec.19.
