Baltimore City’s homicide count between Jan. 1 and March 30, 2022, exceeded last year’s homicide count over the same period, having seen a steady increase since Jan. 9.
Baltimore Witness data shows a recorded 79 homicides as of March 30, increasing nearly 10 percent compared to the number of homicides at the end of March 2021. As of March 3, the homicide count increased approximately 45 percent from 42 homicides in 2021 to 61 homicides in 2022.
