A Baltimore man charged with homicide has a trial scheduled in October.

Kennard Johnson, 33, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of use of a firearm during a violent crime, attempted first-degree murder, conspiracy to first-degree murder, illegal possession of a regulated firearm, having a handgun on his person, and possession of firearms in connection to an incident on Aug. 31, 2020. 

During reception court on April 18 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jennifer B. Schiffer. Judge Schiffer listened as counsel agreed to a trial date.

Johnson was represented by defense attorney Jonathan Kerr.

According to a news release, officers found 62-year-old Grace Jackson and a 52-year-old male victim on the 1700 block of Patterson Park when they went to investigate a shot spotter alert on Aug. 31. Both victims suffered from gunshot wounds.

Jackson was pronounced dead at an area hospital.

Johnson’s trial is scheduled for Oct. 3 and expected to last four days with Judge Yolanda A. Tanner presiding.
