A homicide defendant rejected a plea of 45 years with five years probation on Aug. 29 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa Phinn.
Jalonte Davis, 25, is charged with first-degree murder, use of a firearm during a felony violent crime, and possession of a firearm with a felony conviction in connection to an incident on March 1, 2020.
The prosecutor presented a life plea, suspending all but 45 years with five years probation for first-degree murder. Under the plea, the defendant must also register as a gun offender.
Davis’ and his defense attorney, Henry Barnes, rejected the plea.
Davis’ trial is scheduled for Jan. 30 and is expected to last three days, with Judge Kendra Y. Ausby presiding.
