A 31-year-old man accused of homicide rejected a plea of life on Feb. 1 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa Phinn.
Tarence Jones is charged with first-degree murder, and use of a firearm during a violent crime in connection to an incident on June 13, 2021.
During reception court on Tuesday, Judge Phinn listened as the prosecutor presented a plea of life for first-degree murder.
Jones and his defense attorney, Todd Oppenheim, rejected the plea offer.
According to Baltimore Fox, on June 13, 2021, at approximately 12:11 p.m., officers were called to the 400 block of E. 23rd Street for reports of a cutting, where they found 28-year-old Desmond Williams suffering from massive trauma to his abdomen.
The medics pronounced the victim dead at the scene. It was later determined that the victim was shot.
Jones trial is scheduled for Aug. 1 with Judge Phillip S. Jackson presiding.
