A 33-year-old Baltimore man charged with homicide rejected a plea of life on Sept. 12 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn.
Troy Peace Jr. is charged with first-degree murder, use of a firearm during a violent crime, and two counts of possession of a firearm with a felony conviction in connection to an incident on Oct. 16, 2021.
The prosecutor presented a plea of life for first-degree murder; and a consecutive 20 years with the first five years without the possibility of parole for use of a firearm during a felony violent crime.
Peace and his defense attorney, Jason Silverstein, rejected the plea offer. Silverstein and Peace had previously rejected the same plea in June however the sentencing was not set to run consecutively.
Counsel were unable to agree on a trial date, therefore postponing the hearing for two weeks from Monday.
Peace’s next hearing is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on Sept. 26.
