A 69-year-old Baltimore man accused of homicide received a positive review from his probation officer during a post-conviction on Aug. 18 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jeffery M. Geller.
Charles Stanfield was convicted of first-degree murder more than three decades ago.
During court proceedings, Stanfield’s probation officer said he’s been on unsupervised probation for 18 months. The officer said Stanfield reports when he is supposed to and does everything he asks. She added that Stanfield is compliant as well as has a job.
The defendant addressed Judge Geller, informing him that he works from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. four days a week. Stanfield works at an assisted living facility where he feeds and plays games with the residents. He also said he encourages residents to join in physical activities and enjoys making them happy.
After listening to the defendant and the officer, Judge Geller said he was happy to hear that things were going well.
Stanfield’s next hearing is scheduled for Feb. 1, 2023.
