Homicide Defendant Involved in Double Shooting Found Competent to Stand Trial

A 19-year-old Baltimore man involved in a double shooting has been deemed competent to stand trial before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Gale E. Rasin on March 23. 

Charles Anderson is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of conspiracy to first-degree murder, two counts of use of a firearm during a violent crime, conspiracy to use of a firearm during a violent crime, two counts of armed robbery, two counts of conspiracy to armed robbery, three counts of robbery, two counts of conspiracy to robbery, having a handgun on his person, and conspiracy to wearing/carrying a handgun in connection to an incident on July 2, 2019.

According to the Baltimore Sun, Anderson allegedly shot an unidentified man in the chest and Brittany Foster in the head on the 1200 block of Bloomingdale Road. 

Judge Rasin stated that Anderson’s psychologist was provided with a number of hospital, detention center, and forensics neuropsychological records from a psychologist who interviewed the defendant three times in 2019 and 2020. 

Judge Rasin indicated that Anderson is competent to stand trial. 

Anderson’s trial is scheduled for Sept. 19.
