Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jeannie J. Hong presided as the jury foreperson read the verdict for Donzo Monk, Jr who was found guilty of first-degree murder on Nov. 14. 

Monk, 27, was charged with first-degree murder, firearm use in a felony violent crime, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, having a handgun in a vehicle, having a handgun on his person and possession of a firearm with a felony conviction. 

The jury rendered a guilty verdict for first-degree murder, firearm use in a felony violent crime, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, having a handgun on his person and firearm possession with a felony conviction.

There was no verdict on the handgun in a vehicle charge.

According to Baltimore Witness, Baltimore Police Department (BPD) officers responded to the 6800 block of Sturbridge Drive, where they found 26-year-old Bryant Timmons with a gunshot wound to his head. Timmons was taken to the hospital, where he later died of his injuries a few days after.

Monk was later deemed a suspect and then arrested on April 7, 2022.

Monk’s sentencing is scheduled for April. 5, 2024, before Judge Jeannie J. Hong
