The getaway driver in a robbery turned homicide was handed down a 15-year prison sentence on Jan. 18.

Kiara Wesley, 27, was charged with homicide for her involvement in the murder of Timothy Moriconi on Sept. 27, 2018. During Wednesday’s proceedings, Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Robert Taylor sentenced Wesley to life, suspending all but 15 years and five years of supervised probation for first-degree murder.

Defense attorney Jeremy Eldridge represented the defendant.

According to WBAL-TV, 27-year-old DeAndre Sleet shot the 25-year-old victim in the chest during an attempted armed robbery on the 1200 block of Riverside Avenue, where Wesley drove the getaway car. Sleet was later sentenced to life plus 25 years, without the possibility of parole for the first ten years, in 2020.
