Prosecutors say that three suspects were involved in one murder in 2025 and one of the defendants was accused in another killing three months later.
Baltimore City Police Officers reviewed surveillance footage that allegedly revealed three individuals pulled Davon Smallwood, 20, out of his car, physically assault him, and one individual eventually shoot him. The three suspects are William Pittman Jr, 16, Devin Shandle, 23, and Bernard Brown, 52.
On Dec. 10, 2025, police arrived at the 1900 block of Harman Avenue after a reported shooting, and Smallwood, 20, was found dead on the floor with a gunshot wound to the head.
Further investigation located a 9mm cartridge casing and the victim’s pants pocket turned inside out. A black bag from the alleged suspects apartment was also found, and inside was a Glock-style magazine loaded with two live 9mm rounds.
Pittman’s movements were also tracked by his phone number, and his phone was in the vicinity of the crime scene at the time of the murder. Because of the severity of the charges, Pittman’s case is in the process of being transferred from juvenile court.
At reception court on July 31 before Judge Melissa K. Copeland, Pittman was offered a plea deal of life suspending all but 60 years a chance for parole after the first five years. However, the deal was denied by Pittman and his attorneys Brian E. Levy and Sara Wendel.
A motion hearing has been set for Pittman on Nov. 23, and his trial is expected to be on Nov. 29.
Burrows was in court for a different offense he allegedly committed on Feb. 13. Police responded to 1000 N. Broadway Street at the Broadway Mart after a shooting report, and cashier Khaled Mohamed Alsharki was shot in the lower torso. He died in the attack.
Crime lab technicians found a 9mm cartridge in the store. CCTV footage from inside the mart showed a male subject approach Alsharki, showed him a handgun, and then shot him. He then stole an unknown amount of money from the cash register.
Burrows will have a motion for joinder trial on Oct 5, and his trial date will be decided after.
