A Baltimore man accused of attempted murder was denied bail on Feb.18 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Phillip S. Jackson

Paul Lundy, 68 is charged with attempted first and second-degree murder, first and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, use of a firearm during a violent crime, possession of a firearm with a felony conviction, illegal possession of a regulated firearm, carrying/wearing a handgun on his person, discharging firearms, and illegal possession of ammo in connection to an incident on Nov. 27, 2021.

During a bail hearing on Friday, Judge Phillip listened as the prosecutor informed the court that bullets were recovered from the home but no gun. A threat to the victim’s life was also made by the defendant.

Lundy’s defense attorney, Jonathan Kerr, said the defendant is a veteran who served overseas and received an honorable discharge. He said Lundy is also an active member of the community.

Kerr said shots were fired in the air and not at the victim leaving him unsure of how the charges upgraded to attempted murder.

In addition, Kerr added that the defendant suffers from serious health problems, including diabetes, high blood pressure, hypertension, and heart problems. If released under home detention, the defendant would stay with his brother.

After listening to counsel, Judge Taylor denied bail, deeming the defendant a threat to public safety.

Lundy’s next hearing is scheduled for June 2.
