A man and a woman charged with an attempted murder that occurred in June both rejected their respective plea offers and will be tried separately beginning in March 2023.

Deaira Roary, 33, and Destiny Nickelson, 30, are charged with attempted murder, armed robbery, robbery, assault, and weapons charges for an incident on June 4.

On Dec. 19, Roary rejected the prosecution’s plea of 15 years for conspiracy of armed robbery and a concurrent five years without parole for conspiracy of firearm use in a felony violent crime in addition to registering as a gun offender.

Nichelson rejected a lengthier plea of 30 years, suspending all but 18 years, for attempted second-degree murder; a consecutive five years for firearm use in a felony violent crime; and a consecutive three years, suspending all, and five years of supervised probation for having a handgun in a vehicle.

Nichelson would also serve five years without parole and must stay away from the victim and complete drug screening.

Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa Phinn then scheduled Roary and Nichelson’s trials for March 28, 2023, before Judge Robert Taylor Jr. and April 3, 2023, before Judge Barry Williams, respectively.
