Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Gale E. Rasin granted more time for a competency review of a man charged with murder on Nov. 9.

Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Gale E. Rasin granted an extension for a competency review of a man charged with murder on Nov. 9.

Department of Health ordered an extension for an initial competency review ordered on Oct. 5 for defendant Dandre Woods-Bethel.

Woods-Bethel, 26, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, five counts of using a firearm in a felony violent crime, three counts of attempted first-degree murder, and having a handgun on his person in connection to an incident on Sept. 12, 2020.

According to CBS Baltimore, on the day of the incident, officers responded to a Shot Spotter alert on the 2800 block of Clifton Park Terrace. When they arrived, they located two women, Julie Rice, 46, and Michelle Green, 23, suffering from gunshot wounds. Woods-Bethel called the police to report the shooting and then surrounded shortly after.

Judge Rasin approved the 30-day extension and ordered deliberations to continue on Dec. 14.

Woods-Bethel is represented by Sharon Bogins and Maureen Oleary.
