Defendant’s Instagram Account Shows Him At Murder Scene

An attempted murder defendant went before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Troy K. Hill for his trial with the prosecution continuing to argue its case.

Terrell Parker is charged with attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, firearm use in a felony violent crime, reckless endangerment, two counts of illegally possession of a regulated firearm, having a loaded handgun on his person, illegal possession of ammunition and discharging a firearm within 100 yards of the public in connection to an April 13, 2023, shooting.

The prosecution questioned the lead Baltimore Police Department (BPD) detective on the case, focusing on Parker’s Instagram account.

A witness the detective interviewed gave him Parker’s Instagram account, which included photos of him at the murder scene on the 1700 block of Normal Avenue, as well as photos of him with the firearm the detective said he believed was used in the crime.

The detective said he reviewed these photos and then another team of detectives analyzed the photos further and were able to prove that the account belonged to Parker. 

The detective then created photographic arrays to show to witnesses of the crime, which included pictures of Parker. The witnesses all identified Parker as the shooter. 

Testimony was interrupted due to a software outage that is affecting the courts. The court went into recess, but is projected to resume later on July 17.
