On June 15, a Baltimore man charged with murder was scheduled for trial by Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn.
Defendant Quintell Homles, represented by Karyn Meriwether, is charged with first-degree murder, use of a firearm in a felony violent crime, and possessing a firearm with a felony conviction. He is also charged with having a handgun on his person, possessing a firearm with a felony, and possessing a firearm with a felony conviction on Feb. 13.
According to court documents, officers with the Baltimore City Police Department responded to the 2000 block of W. Pratt Street for a call of a shooting on the day of the incident.
Upon arrival, officers located a black man suffering multiple gunshot wounds to the torso and limbs. The victim, later identified as Clarence Allen Adkins, would later succumb to his injuries.
Investigators received an anonymous tip that the individual responsible for the incident was Holmes.
The prosecutor offered the defendant a plea of life but said that she would give an amended offer once she received lab results, to which she would mend her offer.
The offer was neither accepted nor rejected by the defendant.
Judge Phinn scheduled the 26-year-old defendant’s trial for Sept. 25 with Judge John A. Howard presiding. The trial is expected to last five days.
