On Oct. 19, a Baltimore man chose to proceed to trial after rejecting a plea offered by prosecutors before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa Phinn.
Defendant Terrill Johnson rejected a plea of 40 years for second-degree murder, suspending all but 20 years for second-degree murder; and a concurrent 20 years, suspending all but ten years with five years of supervised probation for using a firearm in a felony violent crime.
According to a press release from the Baltimore Police Department, Johnson, now 22, was arrested and charged in May for the murder of 19-year-old Adrian Morris. It is believed he was shot following a dispute with the defendant on April 29.
Judge Phinn scheduled his trial to begin on April 12, 2023 with Judge M. Brooke Murdock presiding. It is expected to last for four days.
